Jewelry Shopping

I finally got jewelry to wear with my dress this weekend. I went to the V-Line and Doug's aunt helped me pick out something. It is really cute. I'll take a picture of it when I get home tonight so you can see. Anyhow, we were the only people in there for awhile and we got to talking and she started asking me about when Doug & I were getting married and I politely informed her to ask Doug. And then she started asking me whether or not we belonged to a church and that kind of thing, leading up to offering us the use of her home to host our wedding. I kind of giggled at this and then told her that Doug had mentioned before that he thought her house would be a great place for a wedding. And truly, it would. They have a beautiful Vicotorian style house. You should have seen her eyes light up when I said that. Then she started explaing where we'd have the ceremony and all of this stuff. It was crazy. I must say though, that I enjoyed talking about it. And she wants to have it inside, whereas Doug was wanting to have it outside (they have a beautiful lawn, totally landscaped and a gorgeous inground pool), but we'd have to hope the weather would cooperate. Anyhow, I know she has a big mouth and I'm pretty sure that as soon as I left and she got a minute she called Doug's mom. So Doug's probably going to hear about it and I'm probably going to hear about it from him, but I don't care at this point.

Speaking of Doug's mom, she called me last night. She wanted to know where Aaron & Lindsey were registered and to see what I was wearing and to tell me what she was wearing. It was a very odd conversation. Well, not odd, I guess. Just out of the ordinary. I don't think she's ever called just to talk to me before. Who knows, maybe she forgot Doug went to work early, except she didn't ask to talk to him. Weird.

Oh, and I told you that we went and did our bank account and insurance stuff a couple of weeks ago, well we still have no checks, debit cards or insurance cards. We called the insurance place last week after we got cards in the mail for Doug's car & not mine. Those were a fluke. His policy was up for renewal anyway and that is why he got cards. Mine should be here sometime this week. And Doug called the bank today to see what was going on there and found out that they forgot to order our checks & my debit card. Lovely. They say they can get a debit card to us by the weekend, but we'll see. Thank goodness I still have some money in my other account. I did already switch my direct deposit though. Not that Doug won't get money for me if I ask and he already wrote checks for my bills, so we're okay there. It's just annoying. I feel like I have no control over my money at this point and it is driving me crazy!
