Mother's Day
We're halfway done with our Mother's Day celebrations. We spent this morning with Doug's mom. We took her out to breakfast and visited for a couple of hours and this evening we're having dinner with my mom and family. I had to make pasta salad & carrot cake to take with us and I attempted to decorate the cake, notice I said attempt. Now, don't laugh...

I think it's cute! Way better than I could ever do. I've tried writing in icing before. It's alot harder than it looks.
Those pictures make me hungry. :)
I know it took me a couple of tries to perfect it. I don't if you can tell in the picture or not, but the icing is kind of a yellowy-peach color...it was originally white. I messed up my first attempt. So then I had to make the rest of my icing darker. It turned out okay.
I'm hungry too! Amanda isn't here until 1:00, so I still have more than 2 hours until lunch.
