If Katie didn't already have her Halloween costume for the year (she's going to be a penguin), we would so totally go as Little Red Riding Hood, Grandma, & The Big Bad Wolf. Oh well, next year!
Well, geez, now I want to do little red riding hood! Such a cute idea.
I'm completely undecided this year, other than I'd sort of like to make our own costumes, simply because of cost involved in buying two. I'd originally been eyeing Hazel's witch costume from last year for Evie, but that seems wrong. She's her own girl, she should get her own costume.
The only other thing is that I'm not sure if Evie will be walking yet by then. (She's still not making any effort whatsoever) I saw a cute flower costume somehwere and thought it would be good, except it was one of those full body zip-up costumes with feet. We could only really do that if she didn't walk because if she TRIED to walk in it, she would definitely fall because the feet were slick.
Ugh. So yeah, no decisions yet. Maybe I can hunt around today and get some inspiration.
Check familyfun.com for lots of cute costume inspiration. Also, I've seen tons of costumes at TJ Maxx, although not sure of the price and I know Once Upon a Child carries a bunch too. That's just about the ultimate place, because you figure most of those were worn just once! I have specifically picked gender neutral costumes for Katie these first couple of years on the off chance they will fit the next baby that comes along. But I see your point about having her own costume and I think it makes a difference that Hazel wore it just last year, as opposed to wearing it a few years later.
Ooohhh...my SIL was going to dress up my nephews as Thing 1 and Thing 2 and my niece was going to be the Cat in the Hat. I don't think she ever did though. Still it would be super cute! Josh is a good enough sport to be the Cat in the Hat, right? And the girls costumes would be easy, red sweatsuits with a #1 or #2 on them and some kind of wig or hat with some crazy blue hair?

Another idea, they could wear their tutus and some wings: instant fairies. :)
