Carmen's Friday Top Ten

I'm trying the get into the swing of blogging again. Wasn't Friday top ten day? Anyhow here's mine.

The Top Ten Things I've Learned Since Moving to Vermont
(in no particular order)
1.
Cold is Cold. Meaning, if you are already cold at 10 degrees, you don't feel that much different at -10.
2. I can live without Walmart. I used to go at least once a week. Now I haven't been in over a month and a half. And I don't miss it! (and neither does my bank account)
3. Snow is much better than Ice. Since living here I've only had the scrape ice off my car windows twice. The snow piles up and I just push it off with my windsheild wipers. For the doors, I slam them hard and the snow on that side of the car just falls off. It is pretty neat, and much less hassle.
4. Long distance calls are expensive. I knew this already, of course, but knowing it and paying for it are two different things.
5. I am a movie theatre snob. The movie theatre here stinks. The screens are small (as in, I've seen TV's that were bigger. Really.) There is no stadium seating (in fact the floors are pretty much flat) and to top it all off, the seats are uncomfortable! I miss the AMC, which no one here seems to have ever heard of.
6. I like not having cable. It makes for much less fighting with Josh over what we're going to watch. Plus, I get ABC with an antenae so I still get to watch the bachelor/bachelorette.
7. Watching said bachelor/bachelorette is not as much fun when you don't watch it (and make fun of it) with your best friend. :(
8. I love my husband. Again something I already knew, but now we actually have time to enjoy each other's company. On Saturday's we go on adventure trips, driving around and seeing bits and pieces of New England. Something different every week. Sundays we stay at home and do absolutely nothing. Usually we stay in our pajamas, watch PBS (the other channel we get) eat, and play with our dogs. We have alot of fun together.
9. I like being creature of habit. Every morning I go to the same restaurant for breakfast (Anthony's) and the same place for lunch (Piccolo's). I almost always order the same thing. The waitresses know my name. The other REGULARS know my name! And I like it.
10. My favorite Ben & Jerry's is Coffee Heath Bar Crunch. Yum!

I envy your not missing Wal-Mart. It's kind of hard for me to avoid it, since it is just up the street. And Target opens in a week, I think. Yikes! Big trouble for my bank account.

You are right, watching the Bachelorette this time with Doug doesn't even compare.

You've always been a creature of habit. But, then again, so am I. Who else but us, goes to Applebee's and always orders chicken tenders??
