Today is the first day of school for the kids here. No more annoying children in the library at 9:05!! We can't take it anymore! Plus it's cloudy and I think it is supposed to rain today so that may keep alot of people away...we can dream at least!
So how are your classes going? Have you had anything besides the archeology class yet? I really hope you share your work from your photography class. I'd love to see it!
Did you notice I changed our pic over on the right? That is just a really cute picture of us, don't you think?
Well, I guess I should get ready for work. Mom's coming over tonight and we are going to go the reception hall and get a feel for how we are going to set it up and then work on flowers. We got the boutonnières done the other night, and we have made one corsage, but we had to quit because it was getting late. Gotta get our beauty sleep! I promised I'd make dinner too. Nothing fancy, just baked chicken, rice, & veggies. I haven't cooked in so long though, I think I may have forgotten how! :) Have a good day!

All Was NOT As Planned
After months of waiting, we finally got the keys to our new apartment yesterday. Josh and I were pretty excited about it. We've had all this time to plan the colors we wanted to paint and talk about the look we wanted for each room. We imagined ourselves walking to the corner grocery store, sitting down for a chat at the cozy little coffee shop and walking a block down to the lake to watch the water and relax.
Unfortunately, things often don't go as planned.
When we got to the apartment today, the first thing we noticed was that there was only one, very small, parking space left available. We had been promised, and had written into the lease, two parking spaces. Then as we walked up to the front door we noticed that the lovely front porch was filled with THREE broken, ugly, ripped up couches that didn't even deserve a ride to the dump. They deserved to be set on fire immediately. There were empty coffee cups on a make-shift coffee table covered in dirt and cigarette ashes. A dead plant hung from the ceiling. A very, very bad start.
The vestibule, which had merely dirty before was packed with JUNK. There is no other way to describe the crap that lay all over the place. Our apartment was no better. The pantry and back room was still filled with crap from the previous renter. The property management company claimed they cleaned. Um, no you didn't you lying sacks of poo! There were things in the fridge and the freezer door was STICKY! I'm not even ready to start discussing the bathroom.
Thinking that some of our complaints were easily fixable, Josh went upstairs to talk to our new neighbors and see if we could work together to get the Vestibule and front porch cleaned off. Except, THE PIECE OF CRAP COUCHES ARE THEIRS! AND THEY LIKE THEM!
Josh is going to the property management company tomorrow with our complaints. Can anything be done? Not sure, but we sure as hell aren't paying as much as we are to live in a garbage heap!

Sorry!!
I forgot to have my mom take pictures tonight of my hair & my veil. I'm sorry! It looked really pretty though. And the hairdresser took my veil out before she left, I guess so I wouldn't have to worry about messing up the veil. I went ahead and ordered that slip tonight too. That's all for now!

Wedding Shoes
I finally bought shoes for the wedding. Now I can go and get the much-needed alterations done. (The dress is quite a bit more roomy then when I first got it. I hope the alternations don't cost an arm and a leg! Otherwise I may be forced to eat my way back into it! j/k)
Anyway, here are the perfectly adorable shoes I'll be wearing when you wed. (They're silver, I swear!)

Cuuuute, aren't they?

Roses & Lilies
We started on the wedding flowers tonight. All the bouquets are finished. Now we just have the boutonnières and corsages. Anyhow, Angela & Desire came over and helped and I thought you'd like to see the fruits of our labor. :)
Here's the straight on view. Remember how I said I only wanted white flowers? Well I forgot how pretty the other flowers I already had were and I decided to incorporate those as well. Actually, Angela was the one that put this all together, she just started gathering the flowers and the next thing I knew there was my bouquet. We all liked it so well that we went ahead and taped it up so we wouldn't mess anything up, only to find that the stupid cutter thing I bought wasn't going to work on the stems. :( Doug's probably got something around here somewhere that will work though. Then I plan to wrap the stems with ribbon and some pearl headed corsage pins.

I played with my new makeup tonight! I'm super-impressed so far. I forgot how much I loved the Benefit line. :) And I adore the bag! So cute!! Speaking of makeup, what are we going to do for the wedding? Any ideas?
